revival

so i haven't written on this blog for quite awhile, but i am hoping to revive it shortly here. i am going to start by posting reviews of albums and books and movies that have been getting my attention with a new post coming every couple days or so; and more once i get into the flow of things. hopefully the few of you that stumble across this blog will be able to take away some new sounds or reads or sights. til then.

a summer reading list...

these are the books that will be getting my attention this summer:

nectar in a sieve - kamala markandaya

war and peace - leo tolstoy

this side of paradise - f. scott fitzgerald

white teeth - zadie smith

the sun also rises - ernest hemingway

maximum city: bombay lost and found - suketu mehta

the beautiful and damned - f. scott fitzgerald

crime and punishment - fyodor dostoevsky

chronicles: volume one - bob dylan

tender is the night - f. scott fitzgerald

...and probably a few more...but this is what is currently in my stack...just thought i would let you know....mostly cause i'm a tad bored and looking for a couple of others to add; any ideas?

that's not the issue...

i have no real reason for writing this...but it just seems to be a general pattern that every six or twelve i start one of these things and then in a few weeks or maybe a month i give it up...but i'm gonna see if this goes any farther this time...i like to write and these are a a good outlet for the awful prose that i churn out...i write, no one reads. perfect. but its there...and i suppose that's the point
we'll see
